Wouldn’t it be more convenient if you can analyze your wounds without the need to frequently visit the health center? Yes, sure it would be, but the various measuring devices available in the market are so expensive and are surely complicated to use. How about we turn our handheld mobile phones into a measuring device that can analyze the wound on the push of a button. This is exactly what the Wound Analysis application is designed to do.
The app allows you to capture or use a stored image of the wound. It auto segments the wound using two different algorithms. This gets rid of the tedious process to manually crop the wound boundary. Then it displays the wound area and visible pus area in cm2 along with pus percentage. No measuring scales or boundary marking required to get the area. The distance between the camera and the wound has to be fed as an input to allow the camera to auto convert pixel area into cm2. It also features a share option to email the processed photos and the measured data of the wound. This allows the users to share the examined results of the wounds with their doctors. In short, it’s an app that allows you to assist the doctor attend your wounds from the comfort of your home.
