The accelerometer may stop or give false readings when the screen goes to standby mode in some phone models or OS versions. Below is a non-complete list of models that may suffer from this defect:
HTC Hero, HTC Eris, HTC Magic, HTC Legend, HTC Desire, HTC Incredible, HTC Avia, Motorola Milestone, Motorola Droid X, Nexus One, Evo 4g, and most ZTE phones.
You can try compatibility by installing and starting Sensorfit Activity Tracker. Put phone on the table and let it go to IDLE mode (screen off). After this shake your phone hard for 30-60 seconds. After this go for day view and push white arrow button. In Consumption breakdown view you should see that you have gained calories in blue or dark green level. If this hasn't happened there might be problems with functionality.
