Human in these days enjoy a remarkable technical progress in several areas. In addition to his life style these form the resources of his culture and knowledge. One manifestation of progress lies in smart communication devices (mobile phones) that used by most segments of society. Given the characteristic of such devices which could be employed to serve the individual and the society to link them to homeland and heritage. Since the city of Jerusalem has a great position in the Arab and Islamic heritage and it is a focal point in the hearts and minds of its people, it has been found useful to circulate and disseminate concise informative historical and architectural information about the landmarks of al-Aqsa Mosque and the city. The aim is to raise awareness about the city's history and heritage to strengthen the relationship between the people and the city’s landmarks and important buildings. The buildings were selected from a group of three axes for the implementation of this project. They comprise a set from al-Aqsa mosque fountains, the gates of the city wall of Jerusalem, and some of the prominent monuments in the city's heritage.
Each group has been initiated with a brief introduction identifying these monument followed by an overview of each site comprises its name, architectural description, location, date of construction, the founder, and other important data. It is planed to show this information as the holder of the devise becomes adjacent to the site. The goal of this information in the first instance is to benefit and stimulate more interest to look for and read more information.
