The information offered by Itsasbegi comes from the Ocean Meteorology Platform at Pasaia (Gipuzkoa), which is part of the ocean-meteorological network of the Basque country, managed by the Basque Agency of meteorology-Euskalmet.
It provides realtime parameters like temperature, tides, swell, atmospheric pressure, currents, etc.; the previous 72 hours (log) can also be consulted.
The data in the tide forecast tables have been calculated by AZTI-Tecnalia using harmonic analyses of the astronomical tides of the Pasaia station’s records. The forecasts only include the components of astronomical origin of the tides, so it has to be borne in mind that there could be a component of meteorological origin not taken into consideration (in the order of a maximum of tenths of centimetres).
The tide table times are in GMT. Remember: “In winter time, official time is GMT plus 1 (one) hour. In summer time, official time is GMT plus 2 (two) hours.”
