Das Wetter Live is free, the use of the live icon, weather station sun and moon widget can be activated via the in-app upgrade.

Location:

The weather station widget and the live icon uses its location to display the current weather data in your area. These location data are neither used by Surfcheck otherwise nor stored by us.

The (network) location function saves energy, but needs that 'use' wireless' into the Android menu 'Settings> Place'.
