Abalone (in English, the prefix "Ab-" means "never", and "Alone" means "alone"), is an abstract combinatorial strategy game where two players compete. The game, of French origin, won the gold cup in the competition of creators of Boulogne-Billancourt games in 1988 under the name of Sumito. The following year, the game was published, it sold 4.5 million copies in more than 30 countries.
